The wheelchair helped immensely Apostolos and his family in their daily life. He is a sweet 6 year old child who loves big strolls and although he cannot speak, he shows his happiness through his amazing and unique smile! His fairy decided to combine everything Apostolos likes doing. Strolls, sciences and, of course, toy blocks!
One day, three wonderful fairies welcomed the entire family at NOESIS Science Center and Museum of Technology. Their first stop was at the Planetarium to watch the realistic screening at the special hemisphere projector with special effects that was just like a simulator. It was scientific, but age appropriate and it explained in simple terms how the seasons evolved. Apostolos was enthralled by what he was watching and he surprised his parents by how quiet he stayed throughout the screening!
The next stop was at the Technopark, where science experiments occurred that made Apostolos very enthusiastic. Afterwards, they strolled around the vintage car show and at the Ancient Greek Technology park where the family took many photographs together. Then, they all went to a special area that was very Instagramic that made everyone super excited! Apostolos’s mother and his sister already knew about that place and wanted to visit it. The beautiful decor, the balloons and the gifts (which included tons of toy blocks!) and the delicious pancakes along with the chocolate drinks, literally enchanted Apostolos. He constantly smiled and was very obedient to the point that his parents were amazed by his excellent conduct. He seemed to be very content and showed no signs of anxiety which, as they told us, was very rare! They were all very happy and enjoyed their brunch while taking more photographs.
When they finished their brunch, we all went outside together where the magical wings and flowers were set up, so we could take a few more photographs. At the end, we escorted the family to their car to help them with their new wheelchair and their gifts. When we got there, we witnessed something that has never happened before. When it was time for the family to go and although Apostolos always enjoyed getting in the car and riding in it, he didn’t want to do so! He didn’t want to leave!
Apostolos had become a “different” child that day and his parents kept thanking us for the wheelchair and the amazing day they had shared with us. This day would be unforgettable for the entire family and had already changed their lives!
