I wish to have a new smartphone – Elisabeth, 10, Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma

Elisabeth’s wish journey began when she entrusted to us her longed-for wish: to have one of the most popular and high-tech smartphones available. This smartphone would allow her to stay connected with her friends via video calls and keep her company during her long and lonely hours in the patients’ ward. Her dream, though, was even bigger than that. She wanted to live the granting of her wish with her beloved friends, whom she had greatly missed.

Her health condition, however, required more time and patience. Her fairy decided to give her the smartphone, in order to make her stay in the hospital more bearable and promised her that she would organize for her an unforgettable day with her friends, as soon as her health allowed for it.

So, one afternoon, during one of her short stays at home, three fairies magically appeared. They brought with them the much-anticipated smartphones, accessories for it and many gifts. Elisabeth’s fairy also made sure that she brought over chocolate pie, which was the girl’s favorite dessert, and all the fairies together set up a small feast with lots of food and other delicacies.

Elisabeth and her family were delighted. This whole feast was the breath of fresh air they all needed during their struggle with the girl’s health difficulties. But the fairies had one more surprise up their sleeves! Elisabeth became one of the stars for the Wish Star programme campaign. She, along with two other wish children, were all photographed for the new posters and had tons of fun during the photoshoot.

She, along with her “co-stars” were the guests of honour on Wish Star Day, but Elisabeth could not make it, as she was finally completing her treatments and very proudly rang her finish line bell at the hospital. Later on, the organization’s Christmas campaign was created, starring the three children, who all lived a unique experience together. Also, they all appeared on a TV show, where they talked about their experience and battles with their health problems.

Elisabeth had transformed into a different child! She had regained her confidence and her smile. The longed-for fun day with her friends was very close. Her fairy prepared a wonderful day full of surprises for her.

Their first stop was the Selfie Museum. There, Elisabeth, her friends and family posed, took numerous photos and had lots of fun. Their second stop was at a popular clothing and accessories store for teens. The girls all shouted excitedly as soon as they realized where they were heading. They searched all the store’s aisles, picked out clothes, and Elisabeth tried on a gorgeous ensemble. She received many more gifts, and they all left the store in great spirits.

Their last stop was at a restaurant, where they all enjoyed a wonderful meal together and as they were finishing up, another surprise happened; the waiters suddenly appeared with a wonderful purple cake. Then the fairies gave her even more gifts, with the ultimate being a photo printer. Elisabeth and her friends gave each fairy three of their photos, on which they had previously written on the back side how much of a great time they all shared and thanked them for this wonderful day.

At last, Elisabeth managed to experience her dream exactly as she had wished for and had found her smile again, thanks to her fairies and the love that everyone surrounded her with.
