April 29 – The annual walk of Make-A-Wish Greece in the center of Athens with folkloric surprises for a wish child!
In April 29, Make -A-Wish Greece celebrates World Wish Day with the annual Walk for Wishes in the center of Athens! Like every year, volunteers, wish families and supporters of Make-A-Wish Greece will walk in the steps of the first wish ever granted, Chris’ wish, wearing something blue. All together, we will celebrate the 43rd anniversary of the international organization in a “traditional” way!
The Wish Fairies and elves of Make-A-Wish Greece have prepared a huge surprise for celebrating World Wish Day, with a wish child, Despina, starring! Although she lives in Northern Greece, she is in love with… Crete, the largest island in Greece in the southern part of the Aegean Sea. She is a huge fan of its culture, its customs and habits and especially, its songs and dances. Despite her mobility impairments, when Despina listens to Cretan music, it is impossible not to dance! So, this year’s walk will unite Northern and Southern Greece according to her wish!
Our walk will start from Dionisiou Areopagitou (at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus level) where we will gather between 19:00 – 19:30 and walk together to Technopolis of the Cityof Athens, under the auspices of the City of Athens. There will be many surprises waiting not only for Despina, but also for everyone who will participate – not matter their age! We will dance, sing, take pictures with superheroes, light up blue the historical Technopolis but mainly we will offer Despina an unforgettable experience!
The event will take place under the auspices of the City of Athens and the support of Technopolis of the City of Athens. The opening kick-off of will be done by Despina. Co-stars will be all the wish children and especially the ones facing mobility impairments.
