Zoe is a little girl aged just 4, suffering from a very serious illness. She enjoys playing, is always bubbly and adores Walt Disney movies. When the wish fairies asked her what would fill her with joy she said she wanted a Lion King room, with Simba, the wise Mufasa, Nala and all, but all, the heroes of the movie.
The fairies rolled up their sleeves, as this wish involved quite a bit of heavy lifting. For an entire week people went in and out of the house, measured, measured again, looked at the space and left sealed boxes. Little Zoe was eagerly watching them, yet demonstrated a self-restraint which was quite uncharacteristic for her age. She was impatiently trying to find out what the wish – fairies were preparing for her. She would follow them around, and they smiled to her but revealed nothing. A bed with wooden details of wrapped leaves and little lights, sheets and a duvet cover decorated with Simba, long white curtains, a round grey rug under the desk, plush toys and pillows, all with the same theme, and all especially selected for Zoe. A rich mural created a jungle mood in the room of our small friend. Simba, Pumbaa and Timon along with Nala were peeking out of the foliage under the watchful eye of Zazoo and wise Rafiki. Miniatures of the heroes lined the shelves and the new side-table; the wish fairies brought the Lion King to life in Zoe’s new kingdom.
Our little lioness opened the door holding her sister’s hand and started jumping up and down with joy. The look on her face was so amazing! The first, impulsive, move she made was to jump on her bed to explore every corner of her room from up high and discover every little hidden surprise. She loved her room so much that she didn’t leave it for the rest of the evening. The goal was achieved – even surpassed – as Zoe couldn’t stop smiling. Her parents, who believed in the power of the wish from the get-go, were so touched that they made us feel wonderful.
This wish couldn’t have come from another child, and Zoe is a kid that no other wish would have been better for! We lived an amazing experience with her, in an unbelievably giving family that we will always have in our hearts. Zoe, we wish that you always have such joys in your life that you will jump up and down with your curls waving.
